SNN2017 is the 8th Conference of the National Neuroscience Society of Romania (SNN) with national and international participation and it will be organized at Craiova, from Thursday October 19th to Saturday October 21st.
Our society is engaged in the scientific quest to understand neurons and their circuitry and to open new therapeutic strategies that could limit neuronal degeneration and enhance nervous system regeneration after injury. The primary focus of the SNN2017 conference will be to debate, in an interactive multidisciplinary approach, the state-of-the-art and challenges of understanding how the brain reacts to various insults and eventually will attempt a rewriting process in response to injuries. Priority will be given to fundamental neuroscience topics. As such, the general framework of the SNN2017 conference is "Neurodegeneration and regeneration: from cells to mind", in keeping with the wide range of interests of the Romanian neuroscientists.
SNN2017 venue is the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Craiova in recognition of the important advancements in neuroscience research made in the last ten years at its Department of Functional Sciences and Center for Ageing Research. Apart for auditoriums with all the necessary audio-video presentation equipment, appropriate to accommodate the expected 150-200 participants, the venue offers large halls for poster presentations and sponsor exhibitions and the necessary space for practical demonstrations. Importantly, this great venue will be generously provided at no financial expense to SNN2017. The venue address is 2-4 Petru Rares Street, Craiova, Romania.
Satellite events include a course of laboratory animal science for PhD students (certified by the Romanian veterinary authority) and a technical demonstration of two-photon microscopy.
SNN2017 will enhance networking opportunities during an engaging social program.
SNN2017 official languages are both Romanian and English, therefore the participants are encouraged to have their slides/posters in English even if they choose to have their talk in Romanian.
The abstracts will be published in a special issue of "Fiziologia (Physiology)" (ISSN 1223-2076 Printed version, e-ISSN 2247-2061, ISSN-L 1223-2076).
